Acne Classification by Ages

Acne can be a problem at any age for anybody. Although acne is a problem that is most common in teens however neither Adults nor Infants are spared from it.
Acne is mainly classified in three divisions on basis of age groups.

Baby Acne

Baby acne can be found in children from the age group of 2 weeks onwards. Normally this type of acne is harmless and goes away itself with proper care. Its a myth that babies don't have acne. There is a strong 30% chance of babies suffering from acne and there is no co-relation between a baby suffering from acne and his suffering from acne on grows upto a teenager.

Teenage Acne

Teenage Acne is the most common form of acne and strikes a large number of teenager
during puberty. The main cause behind any form of acne is believed to be hormonal imbalance and during teenage the changes in body result in this hormonal imbalance

Adult Acne

Adult Acne is a common problem that can either be a continuation of teenage acne in some adults or reappearance of acne breakout in their twenties or thirties. The problem is again assoicated with hormonal imbalances that may be a result of mensuration cycle, pregnancy in women or due to medication or some other trigger for hormonal imbalance. There exists other forms of acne like acne mechanica that can also lead to acne breakout.
